Zotac
Brenda stood in front of the mirror and leaned over the sink as she applied a fresh layer of mascara to her eyes. Jess and Vicky were both leaning up against the corner talking about something but Brenda hadn’t paid any attention to them the entire day. There was only one thing on her mind all day. Linda was back.
It had been nearly a week since Brenda had stolen the necklace and Linda had pretty much disappeared not even Cindy seemed to know where the girl had gone. Not that Brenda had asked directly but she was a pretty good listener.
Now Linda was back not that Brenda expected a fight but still something about the situation made her nervous.
“…So I told him no I won’t go out with you. I only date jocks and oh you should have seen the look on his face I think I broke his poor little heart…”
Brenda slammed down her brush sending a spray of black goop all across the mirror. “Do you girls have anything better to talk about, seriously?”
The girls were silent for a minute than Vicky spoke up. “Like what Brenda?”
“Like where on earth Linda was all week?”
The two girls looked at each other than Jess said. “What is it with you obsession with Linda anyway Brenda there are like a million other people in this school you can torment why do you have to always pick on her she’s getting to used to it…It’s boring.”
Anger flared in Brenda’s eyes and they took a step backward. “Because, that girl is hiding something, something even her best friend Cindy doesn’t know and I intend to find out what it is.” She fingered the necklace around her neck. And looked at her reflection in the mirror one last time, ignoring the mascara that was dripping down the side of the mirror leaving ugly back streaks down the mirror and leaving a small puddle of the black goop on the counter. Satisfied she put the cap back on her mascara and placed it neatly in her purse and then she picked up her purse and threw it across her shoulder and without even making sure the other girls were following she sauntered out of the bathroom.
Linda had been watching Brenda from a distance all day. Eventually she would get the girl alone and then she would show Brenda what she was really made of. She watched as the three girls came out of the bathroom and Brenda looked absolutely ticked and the two girls looked a bit scared and Linda noted that they were keeping their distance whispering quietly between the two of them and sending nervous glances up toward Brenda.
Brenda noticed Linda and headed toward her. Linda took a deep breath and she could feel her hands clenching into fists inside of her hold back don’t give yourself away, remember earthly matters shouldn’t matter. Besides Linda your Zotac now, you’ve fought robots and spent time in prison and were in a war, you can handle this bratty little thief who thinks she’s so tough.
“So were did you disappear too last week?”
Linda just smiled and didn’t answer.
“Well I’m waiting. You don’t honestly think you can just disappear off the face of the planet and not have somebody ask you where you went do you.” Linda tried not to smile at the irony on Brenda’s statement but she couldn’t help it. “What’s so funny? I’m being serious here.”
“Oh I’m sure you are. But just because you ask me a question doesn’t mean I have to answer it. Unlike most of the people in this school,” she leaned forward for effect, “I’m not afraid of you Brenda.” With that Linda walked away leaving Brenda open-mouthed and furious.
Brenda could feel her blood boiling as Linda turned and walked away. What was it about that girl that ticked her off so much and why didn’t she just do what Jess had suggested and just find someone else to terrorize. But then she would never find out the truth about Linda would she? No, she couldn’t give up she had to find out what it was that Linda was hiding if it killed her. She fingered the necklace again and scowled. It was the necklace that had caused her to first suspect. Linda had said it was from her father but the necklace was to someone named Leena from a Kayla and Gaylin. Who names their kid Leena or Gaylin for that matter? Her hand brushed against the jewels at the bottom. And what on earth does it mean by ‘a light in these dark times’ it really makes no sense. I know that girl is hiding something. And today’s the day I will find out what it is. I can feel it.
Linda walked across the street an onto the path. A light snow had fallen during school but she didn’t the cold wind felt good against her face. Her boots crunched against the snow and she kept her head down so the snow wouldn’t blow into her eyes. She stopped in the middle of the path and looked up at the sky letting the snow brush across her face with the wind. It reminded her of the evening mist on Imaginess only colder. A crunching sounded from behind her and she turned to see Brenda coming up, determination filled her face and she didn’t even seem to notice the snow flying across her face. This girl is crazy Linda thought as she watched the girl get closer.
“You have a lot of nerve standing up to me like that. If I want something I’ll get it.”
“And what do you want Linda. You all ready go my necklace what else could you want.”
“I want to know who you are Linda, and what your hiding cause I know there’s something. I want to know what the back of this necklace means.”
“And do you honestly think I’d tell you?”
“Ya you will because I always get what I want even if I have to fight for it.”
Linda couldn’t resist laughing. “Are we talking physical fighting here or a battle of wits because I’d love to see you do a drop a kick.” Brenda face went red with rage.
“You don’t think I can do it. I took dojo from first to sixth grade I could take you any day.”
“Well than you name the day.”
“How about right now.”
“Have at it.” Just remember to breathe and fight like a normal sane HUMAN being. The fight began Brenda being the more steamed up of the two was the first to attack. Linda was ready for it and dodged Brenda barely catching herself before falling onto the snowy ground. She spun around her face was a mask of frustration and anger and her headband was sagging and her hair was going in all directions but for once Brenda didn’t seem to care. She ran for Linda again this time grabbing Linda by the shoulders and trying to push her to the ground. Linda let her pulling Brenda down with her. So there they were on the ground snow rising all around them. Suddenly Brenda stopped and looked into Linda’s face.
“You’re not even breathing hard. Try harder I don’t want to win because someone lets me come on what are you afraid of?”
“I’m not afraid. But I don’t think I need to use my full strength against you. There’s no need.”
“Yes there is, now give me all you’ve got.” She said standing up and brushing herself off.”
“Brenda I could send you running without even touching you.”
“Prove it.”
“Alright you asked for it.” She looked up at the sky “I’m sorry guys I don’t normally break promises but a girl’s got to do what a girl’s got to do.”
She looked back at Brenda whose eyes were fixed on Linda, eyebrows raised. Linda took that moment while Brenda’s eyes were on Linda’s face to let her hand drift to her belt within a moment she was gone. She appeared behind a bush watching for a moment as Brenda looked around bewildered. She smiled slightly and then disappeared again reappearing behind Brenda she let her arms slide from all directions of her body then taped on Brenda’s shoulder Brenda turned around and screamed and then went running down the road screaming and running she then pressed the button again and appeared before Brenda grabbing her by the shoulders. She pulled her arms back in and sat there looking into the girls frightened eyes. “You can never tell anyone if you ever tell anyone I’ll send a whole fleet of aliens after you and your family.” Of course she didn’t mean it but Brenda didn’t know that as she nodded her head her eyes wide and her hair sticking up in every direction. Linda let her go and Brenda went stumbling down the road trying to get out of there as fast as she could. Linda felt bad for the poor girl but at least Brenda wouldn’t be bothering her and her friends anymore.
Brenda had never run so hard before and she didn’t stop running until she had reached her car she flung the door open jumped in slammed the door and locked it. Finally she stopped long enough to take a breath. She looked out the window expecting to see the freaky monster that was Linda pop up at any moment. She clutched her steering wheel waiting for her beating heart to slow down into a normal heart beat. So that had been Linda’s secret. Suddenly she wished she had never tried to find out the truth she looked into the rearview mirror her hair was wet from the snow and was sticking up wildly, her mascara was dripping and…she gasped as she realized it…she was still wearing Linda’s necklace. As quickly as she could she pulled it off, she opened her purse and pulled out a small box she quickly thrust the necklace in the box and placed the box on her dashboard where she knew she would remember it in the morning. There was no way she could hold onto that thing another day. She would return it to Linda first chance she got then maybe if she was lucky the girl wouldn’t ever bother her again. She found her keys and started her car. Cindy she had to call Cindy. No matter what Cindy had done in the past she was still the best friend she had ever had. Besides if Cindy didn’t already know that her best friend was an alien then she deserved to know.
I don’t care what she threatens I will not be blackmailed. I’m going to tell this whole school about this they won’t let her stay in this school. She chuckled quietly to herself as she pulled out of the school-parking lot. But just in case that necklace is going back first thing in the morning.
That night Linda had yet another dream about her parents.
“Well done Linda.” Said her father “You have done a great job you are a leader and a conquer just like I told you would be. And don’t worry about Brenda she will tell people about the things she has seen but as long as you just ignore her and don’t get to defensive no one will believe her.”
“Thank you father but I don’t know how to be a leader and now I’m wanted. How can I rule an entire planet?”
“We will help you.” Spoke up her mother.
“There is a new task at hand.” Her father added.
“I’m ready.”
“You must find Christilone he will help you and tell you what you are to do and in time he will help you to fulfill the prophesy.”
“How do I find him?”
“You must figure that out for yourself.”
“Is he Imaginese?”
“Yes find him he will help you.” And with that they were both gone but her mother’s voice trailed through the darkness.
“Remember when ever you need us you know where you can find us. Good bye my dear daughter.” And then it was silent and Linda woke up and so it was she was sent off on another adventure by her parents to find the mysterious Christilone who would help to rescue her parents.

Su Kutcha is Born (Chapter 6)
Wanted
Things were getting bad. The Mercian’s had mostly retreated except for a few stray ones that were still reeking havoc. But the Venusians seemed to be multiplying. For every Mercian that fell or retreated two Venusians were there to take his place.
Sira had wrapped Adan’s legs the best she could and had been doing her best to nurse him back to health with her limited supplies. She had dragged him off the street into a building. He now lay propped in the corner his head and legs tightly wrapped. She stood waiting by the window two guns loaded and ready just waiting for one of those creepy crawlies to dare to enter this building.
She looked back in Adan’s direction he hadn’t moved the entire time and she was afraid that he wouldn’t survive the day. She went over to his side for the millionth time in the last hour and felt his arm again for a pulse it was still there but it seemed to get weaker and weaker every time she checked it.
She placed the guns at her side and pulled Adan to her holding him tight. “I’m so sorry Adan,” The tears began to well up in her eyes and a sob formed in her throat. “I’m sorry that I didn’t come find you, sorry that I never got to tell you that I forgive you and that I still love you.” The tears were coming harder now and she buried her face in his hair and let them come. “Kohath, please don’t take him from me now. I still love him.”
Kohath stood beside Sira as he always did. And like always her prayers reached his ears with crystal clarity. A painful sadness was growing in his heart as he watched his beloved daughter cry over the man she loved, the friend who meant the most to her. He placed his hand on her head and whispered words of peace into her soul. “Be still my daughter. Be still.”
Her sobbing lessened and he felt his peace flow into her. Slowly she released her worries to Kohath and finally she fell into a peaceful sleep.
Linda got to Imaginess right when things were starting to get really bad. The Venusians were tired of playing around and so were starting to use their powers to attack and no one knew how to defeat them. Linda looked in horror at all the devastation she saw. “All right dragon, show me what you can do.” The dragon stomped its foot sending a few of the aliens off balance and the rest running for cover. The dragon rose on two legs and sent Linda tumbling to the ground. She hit the ground hard. The jolt made her ache all over and her gun had flown out of her hand. It was only about a foot to her right. She reached for it but one of the scrawny demons jumped on her chest and was brandishing a sharp piece of metal. He waved it in her face and moved forward menacingly. He was mouthing something but he was so quiet she couldn’t tell what he was saying. He poked his miniature sword into her neck and continued yapping away in his unheard language.
Her body still ached from the fall off the dragon and her head throbbed so bad she could barely move. The tiny sword was pressing harder and harder into her neck and she could feel a thin stream of blood flowing down her neck. Suddenly the creature dropped the sword and clutched his hands to his ears he fell back on the grass writhing in pain. The pain was washing over her body and harder waves now and she could feel herself losing conciseness. The last thing she remembered was seeing hundreds of the little demons running for the protection of their ship and hearing the dragons roar echoing throughout the city.
Bee…doop…bee…doop…bee…doop. Sira awoke with a start it was dark and there was an annoying hissing and beeping coming from somewhere in the room. Where was she? She sat up and the blue light from the screen caught her attention. It was a heart monitor and the lines were moving so slowly that she knew that the person in the bed was as good as dead. “Oh Kohath no.” She whispered. She didn’t have to look at the person in the bed to know it was Adan. She pushed herself up straighter in the chair and stood up. Sure enough Adan was laying in the bed his chest rising with every ‘bee’ and falling with every ‘doop’
“Adan…Adan can you hear me.” She grabbed his hand and clutched it tight. “Please talk to me…Adan.” There was no answer just the incessant bee-doop that filled the room. She let her head drop to the bed and she began to cry.
Bee…doop…bee…doop…bee…doop. “Adan…Adan can you hear me?” The question and the horrible sounds moved in and out of his consciousness. Was he dead? He had to be only Treek could hurt this bad. Only Treek would cause him to constantly hear Sira’s voice but never allow him to see her or feel her hand in his. Bee…doop…bee…doop. He wanted to scream but his voice wouldn’t come. “Please talk to me…Adan” A new sensation filled him something he hadn’t felt in 8 months the feel of Sira’s hand in his. So he wasn’t dead he was alive and somehow Sira was here with him holding his hand as if she had forgotten everything he had ever done to her.
It was fading again he was losing her slipping back into unconsciousness. No, please don’t take her away from me again. I’m sorry Kohath I’m sorry for everything just please don’t let me lose her again. He still felt himself slipping. He deserved it of course. He had denied Kohath, betrayed him and now when it suited him he expected Kohath to save him. She’s probably not even really there. I’m probably delusional. Just wishing that she still loved me enough to be here… Please Kohath if I make it through this I promise I’ll find her and apologize to her. I promise.
Something rough touched Linda’s face and she squeezed her eyes shut harder. When it stopped Linda opened her eyes and looked up at the sky the stars above her nearly hidden by the evening mist. She stood up and reached for her gun it was completely damaged by the dew and she dropped it back on the ground. A shadow passed in front of the moon and her first instinct was to run until she realized it was only the dragon. The events of the day flashed through her memory and she realized that the dragon had saved Imaginess. “You have quite the roar there don’t you girl.” The dragon seemed to smile at her and plopped down in the grass waiting for Linda to climb on. “I still have to give you a name don’t I? How ‘bout Seurmiera? Seur means ‘a loud noise’ and Mier means ‘a great beast’ so that makes you my ‘sonic dragon’” Linda smiled at her own cleverness and pulled herself up onto Miera’s back.
Rowel stood in the living room passing back and forth. His little sisters were in bed his father was in the kitchen and his mother sat on the couch watching him, worry etched across her face as well. “Where are they?” He muttered as he stared out the window for the millionth time that day.
“I’m sure their fine Rowel.” He could tell by his mother’s tone of voice that she didn’t believe her own words. Rowel slumped into the couch opposite his mother and put his head in his hands. He reached for his glass of water but stopped halfway to the glass. The water in the glass vibrated slightly and the glass was slightly shaking he looked at his mother who was looking nervously at a picture that was about to fall off the wall. Rowel jumped to his feet and dashed to the window. A large monster was heading toward their house. “What is it son?”
“It’s the monster, the one that saved us.” The monster stopped a few feet from their house and he saw someone slip off its back the figure patted the monsters nose and then turned and made its way toward the house her head down against the evening mist. As the figure got closer he let out a shout of relief for it was none other than Linda herself. He ran to the door as fast as he could and pulled her inside. “Thank goodness you’re ok Linda.” He pulled her into a quick hug and then pushed her back. “Where’s Sira?”
Fear filled Linda’s eyes as she realized that Sira wasn’t there. “I…I don’t know.”
Sira had no idea how long she’d been crying longer than she had ever cried in her life that was for sure. She was still clutching onto Adan’s hand her head buried into the bed. She listened to bee-doop as it repeated itself over and over again listening for some kind of a change anything to indicate that he was getting better. But there was nothing. She had been crying and praying to Kohath praying that Adan would make it through but she seemed to be receiving no answer only the consistent bee-doop that told her that he was still the same. Bee-doop…bee-doop…bee-doop…bee-doop…bee-deep…bee-deep…bee-deep. Sira’s head shot up when she heard the change in beeps. Her heart soared as she watched the blue lines move faster and faster down the screen. Adan’s hand tightened around hers and she looked at him. He was smiling at her his eyes twinkling with a mischief she thought she would never see again. “Adan!” She threw her arms around him and held him close. For that moment no more words were needed. As he held her in his arms she knew all she needed to know.
Meeting of the captains of the Venus and Mercury guards Moline and Teavole. In Teavole’s quarters on the Venus mother ship. Moline is the first speaker.
“So the same thing happened to you”
“Yes, she went into the storage room with a huge monster-“
“Monster? Where did she get the monster?”
“I don’t know. One minute she’s on the ground about to be creamed and the next a monster destroys our robot.”
“Well that is strange and let me guess she went into the storage room and when you got there she was gone.”
“And the monster yes. How did you know?”
“The same thing happened to us we threw her in a cell and 15 minutes later we go in to check on her and she’s gone and then I hear that one of our ships is missing as well. So what do you think we should do?”
“There’s nothing we can do this meeting is over.” Moline left Teavole’s office a couple minutes later there was a knock on the door and another Mercian walked in.
“You wanted to see me,” he asked.
“Yes I did I need you to copy this for me and hang them up everywhere when we get to Venus. The alien took them and did as Moline asked.
1 week later
“Did you see this Linda?” Alita walked into the room and handed Linda the news-screen. Linda took it and read over it. “They want to make me Zotac? Are you serious?”
“It’s all over the news.”
“That’s unbelievable I barely did anything. I escaped a couple of jail cells and let Meira take on a few aliens but that doesn’t make me a hero.”
“According to this it does.”
“I don’t know the first thing about ruling a country I can barely take care of my problems on earth.”
“Don’t worry Linda we’ll help you. Come on this is an honor Imaginess hasn’t had a Zotac in nearly 20 years. And their offering it to you, a nobody. Did you hear about the reward?”
“Reward?”
“Apparently Mercury is giving out a reward for whoever can capture Su Kutcha.”
“Su Kutcha?”
Ali handed her a piece of paper. “It means Impossible One. No one knows how but boxes of these were delivered to the Tuli station in Pookum 3 days ago. They burned all the boxes but they published this in the paper.” Linda looked at the paper in her hands.
Wanted:
For escaping two prisons in the course of a 3 hour period. Girl, from the planet of Imaginess. Last seen in the storage room on a Venus mothership on the back of a monster. If you find this Su Kutcha please contact a Mercury official and collect you’re reward of 1,000,000 Kolba.
A picture followed with Linda fighting a robot. “1,000,000 kolba that’s insane.”
“Keep reading.” Ali prodded her.
Is this the same girl that saved us from these evil people? If this is very same Leena Elopee than don’t you think she has the strength to save us from future attacks? I say we stand up and protect our hero from the aliens that may try to hunt her down.
The article continued on giving a million other reasons why Linda would make a great leader. She put the paper down and sighed. “Do they know I’m from Earth yet?”
“No, I don’t think so.”
“Good, let’s keep it that way.”
“Do you mean you’ll do it?”
“I’ll do it…As long as I can still go home.”
“Whatever Zotac wishes, is my command.”
“Oh and from now on it’s Leena…no more of these earth names.”
A smile spread over Alita’s face. “Will do.”
A frown creased Linda’s face “Is that any way to speak to your Zotac.”
Alita tried not to smile as she responded. “Yes, my Zotac whatever you wish.”
“Much better.”
Ali couldn’t hold it in any longer she burst into laughter. “Your going to make one good Zotac Linda…I mean Leena.” Then both girls broke into laughter.

Su Kutcha is Born (Chapter 5)
“This is the End”
“Linda wake up your life is in danger you must wake up. Wake up.”
Linda awoke with a start the room was still empty and it took her eyes a minute to adjust to the darkness. She looked up to see the low ceiling above her head. Her father’s words of warning caused her to think quickly she knew she had to get out of there before the aliens came back for her.
Her head felt groggy from the blow to the head she had received earlier. She reached up and touched the back of her head with her hand. There was definitely a bruise where she had hit her head. Her hand rested on the collar around her neck. And she gave it a slight pull only to find that it was still secured around her neck.
Then she noticed something. Her hands were no longer tied behind her back. Then she noticed something else her watch was missing. She tried her belt but it didn’t work. She tried a few more times but each time she failed. Defeated she pulled herself up into a sitting position and leaned back against the wall trying to think of what to do next. Could this be the end? Would she die here in this cell?
A breeze blew over her face and she closed her eyes to breathe it in. Wait where is that breeze coming from? She repositioned herself against the wall so she could see better and pressed her hands against the walls to see if there were any cracks in the wall. She closed her eyes tightly as she searched the walls praying that her hand would find something in this darkness.
Her hand hit something that felt like a grate and she felt a burst of cold air brush over her face and she let out her breath as slowly as she could manage and focused her attention completely on the grate. The grate was screwed tightly closed there was nothing getting through. She leaned back on the heel of her hands and gave a swift kick to the center of the grate. It groaned slightly but didn’t give. She kicked it three more times before she heard the screws pop and the grate fell to the floor. She held her breath praying that no guards had heard the commotion. All was silent.
The shaft was a tight squeeze but Linda had always been small boned. It would be dark she knew that but not much darker than her cell and she had to get out of there somehow.
She pulled herself slowly through the shaft. At first the place was covered in darkness but then she saw a light ahead of her and a second later the sound of voices. She stopped outside the grate again and listened as two of the aliens babbled away in their foreign tongue. One of the creatures wasn’t wearing his helmet and the skin around his face was red and flaky like a really bad sun burn. It was hot in the room but not too hot. A couple minutes later they left the room. Linda pulled herself past the grate until her feet were even with it rolled onto her side and kicked as hard as she could behind her. Her foot ricocheting off the grate and slamming her knee on the shaft wall. She tried a few more times each time her knee hitting the wall until finally the grate popped off and she was able to climb out.
She took a quick look around the room and noticed an extra suit sitting there. She quickly grabbed the suit and pulled it on. It was slightly big on her but not by much. She glanced over the controls and although she couldn’t read the language it was easy to find the switch that changed it to cold air.
As soon as she had the suit on securely she was able to walk the ship freely. Nobody questioned her and she walked right past a good number of the creatures in the hallways with no trouble. She made it to the main hanger with little trouble and waited until the commander was distracted with someone else before jumping onto a ship and taking off. It didn’t take her long to figure out the controls and in a matter of moments she was free of the mothership and on her way back to Imaginess.
“Mercian Sk349 please identify yourself we had no knowledge of any ships leaving at this time.” The radio crackled to life and the creature spoke in perfect English. “Mercian Sk349 please identify yourself.” Linda ignored it and kept her course for Imaginess. “Mercian Sk349 identify or we will take control of your ship.” There was nothing she could do. She picked up the radio receiver and closed her eyes as she spoke into the receiver. “This Mercian Sk349 I’ve been ordered to take medical supplies to Imaginess for the Mercian doctors they requested something’s that they’re out of. Over.”
There was silence over the other end. Her ship jolted and the wheel began to turn of its own accord. She let go of the steering wheel and sat back. They hadn’t believed her and now they were taking her captive. It was over so much for freedom.
He clutched the gun against his chest it was the only gun with any laser fluid left and even this one was almost empty. He had followed a group of Venusians halfway across town waiting for the perfect time to attack. He couldn’t let them know he was here until just the right moment he only had about 5 shots left. Every single one of them had to count or he was dead. He heard a noise to his left and looked just in time to see a figure disappear behind a tree. The Venusians had heard it too and were working their way slowly toward the tree.
The figure leaned around the side of the tree and sent a couple shots into the group as she rolled behind a hover car and then made a mad dash toward another tree her purple hair pulled back in a loose ponytail.
The Venusians had recovered from the second attack and the three unwounded ones were making their way toward the hover-car. He glanced in the direction of the girl and saw her clasping a fresh bottle of laser fluid to one of her guns. She glanced in the direction of the Venusians and that was the first time her realized who she was. “Sira!” he whispered.
The car revved up and he knew that no amount of her gun power could stop the car. Panic gripped him and he imagined himself running to Sira’s side too late. Never having the chance to say he was sorry for everything, never having the chance to tell her that he still loved her.
He heard her gun go off. Shot after shot disappeared into the car but it didn’t slow down. He looked around and found another car a couple feet behind him. It was his only hope. He raced to the car and tried the door. Locked. He smashed his gun across the window the vile of laser fluid bursting as he did so. He unlocked the door and climbed in as fast as he could. It took him only a couple seconds to rewire the car and start it. If he had been a praying man he would have thanked Kohath that this car had been here and that his father had taught him how to rewire them. If he would have been a praying man he would have asked Kohath to help him save Sira, prayed that somehow he would survive long enough to tell Sira he was sorry and that he still loved her. But he wasn’t a praying man, not anymore. Not after what he had done. He had betrayed Kohath and Sira both and now neither of them loved him any more. He couldn’t blame them of course he just wished that somehow he could redo that day. Then maybe things would be better.
But it was too late for that now. What’s done is done there’s no way she can know you love her now. There’s nothing left to live for. You might as well die saving her.
The tires of the other car were screeching and he could picture the Venusian car slamming into Sira. Not if I can help it. He gritted his teeth and slammed on the gas. He saw the other car in front of him and his breath caught in his throat. This is the end. Seconds before he felt the impact of the car he whispered a silent prayer. “Let her know I’m sorry.” That was his final thought before the car crushed him.
The Venus cells were nothing like the cells of Mercury. The Venusians had a type of gladiator games that they did with their prisoners. Only instead of prisoner against prisoner it was prisoner against robot. You weren’t meant to survive.
Linda was put in a machine that changed her out of the clothes she was in and into some armor that was strong enough to help her take on robots but not so much that she would win there were even a few gadgets. Everything was removed except her socks. They even took off the collar so at least she would be able to use her arms.
Once out in the arena Linda started getting a bit shaky especially once she saw the robots that she was supposed to fight. Some were small enough to step on others were human size the largest was about a foot taller than her.
One of the smaller robots charged for her she dodged. She ran around to another one to punch it stepping on the little ones on her way and letting her arms come streaming out of all sides. She came up to one of the medium ones. She accidentally bumped a button and a laser beam came shooting out of her wrists and the robot shot sky high.
She went after the rest of the medium robots trying out some of the other buttons. One button shot a net another shot spikes and yet another gave her a small jump about half of the amount on her boots.
When all of these robots were destroyed she went for the big robot. She shot a net at it but the robot easily broke it she shot spikes and lasers at it but it didn’t seem to notice. In frustration she charged for it each arm was carrying a spike she had pulled out of some of the fallen robots but it sent her flying to the ground. She lay there a moment in a daze, listening as the Venusians high pitched screams filled her ears. This was it, the end.
The car was coming at her fast. She could run but the car would only chase her down. She lifted her gun again and let a spray of bullets cover the car. They didn’t even seem to leave a mark. This is it isn’t it Kohath? I’m going to die here and I’m never going to get to tell him I still love him. Please wherever he is tell him I love him. She closed her eyes and prepared herself to feel the impact of the car hitting her. Please make it quick and painless.
She heard a crash and opened her eyes two cars were lying motionless in front of her both steaming. The second car had obviously crashed into the first but she couldn’t tell exactly what had happened.
Before another thought could fill her mind she had jogged over to the first car and sent 10 laser bullets through the window and into the control board. She dropped the gun that was no completely empty and placed the other three at her side. She closed her eyes for a minute and forced herself to take three deep breaths before walking over to the other car. She pulled out one of her guns and opened the door. There was only one man in the car and was slumped forward in his seat his still hands still clutching the steering wheel. His legs had been pinned by the impact and it would be nearly impossible to get him out without some help. She felt his neck but didn’t feel a pulse. “Rest in Peace my friend” She stood back and realized that his legs weren’t as badly pinned as she had at first thought. The least I can do is get him out of this car before it blows. She knelt down by the mans legs and pulled them out as quickly and gently as she could. His pants tore slightly and a piece of shrapnel cut at his legs but she was able to get him free.
She dragged him a safe distance from the car and set him down she took a deep breath and grabbed his arm again feeling for a pulse. This time she was able to make out a faint beat. She smiled. He’s going to make it I just have to get him to a hospital before it’s too late. For the first time she looked at the mans face and just as quickly the smile disappeared.
“Adan!”
Linda lay there looking up at the sky. The ground thudded beneath her as the robot got closer. This is the end isn’t it Kohath. She closed her eyes waiting for the crush of steel. Each thud of the robots step brought her death closer and closer. Suddenly she felt a tickle on her leg as a pill bug crawled up her leg and onto her armor. At first she was confused for the bug wasn’t brown like the other had been this was a purple one. Hope filled her soul as she realized that she might not have to die yet. The robot was one step away one more step and life as she knew it would cease to exist. She spit on the bug and whispered “something strong real strong.” The robot lifted its foot preparing to bring it down on her she closed her eyes again hoping it would work, suddenly there was a flash of light standing above her was the most beautiful silver dragon she had ever seen. It had grown up right underneath the robots foot and knocked the robot off balance and onto the ground.
With a command she sent the robot after the robot and in a matter of seconds the machine was destroyed. The Venusians were not happy. They had run into the arena yelling and screaming at her in voices so high she couldn’t even understand them.
Linda jumped on the dragon “Let’s go,” fear clutching at her once again.
The dragon bounded down the corridors of the mothership Linda holding on for dear life. It didn’t take long for them to locate the storage room. “Watch the door,” Linda told the dragon “don’t let anyone in.” She ran around franticly looking through boxes luckily the room wasn’t that big for she soon found what she was looking for, she gathered up her stuff and ran back to the dragon. She pried the back of her belt open using one of the dragon’s scales and was instantly able to figure out what was wrong. She could hear the Venusians banging on the door trying to get in. She fumbled with the belt. Finally she tightened the last bolt and pressed the back into place. The Venusians were almost through the door. She climbed onto the dragons back and pressed the button on the belt just as the Venusians burst through the door but it was too late, Linda and her dragon were gone.
“Linda wake up your life is in danger you must wake up. Wake up.”
